Main opposition CHP MP Ali Mahir Başarır has said that Demirören Holding has not paid back the loans it received from the state-owned Ziraat Bank and noted that the bank “has neither sent a written warning nor started executive proceedings.”

In a Parliamentary question to Minister of Treasury and Finance Elvan, HDP MP Paylan has asked if there is an investigation into the allegations that the money collected with high interest rates at state-owned Ziraat Bank in Germany was transferred to Turkey.

The bank had applied to buy the majority stake of the Simit Sarayı, a Turkey-based international bakery chain.
