The first hearing in the trial of Zaman Daily, in which 31 media employees including closed Zaman daily's former writers and employees Şahin Alpay, Ali Bulaç, Mümtazer Türköne, Ahmet T. Alkan, Nuriye Akman and Mustafa Ünal are standing trial was held yesterday. The hearing will continue today.

The first hearing in the trial of Zaman Daily, in which 31 people are standing trial including closed Zaman daily’s former writers and employees charged with “coup attempt” is being held today.

Ayşenur Parıldak, correspondent of the closed Zaman daily, standing trial on charge of “being a member of the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization” has been arrested again in the evening hours, soon after the court released her.

Detained on July 30 in the operations against former Zaman daily journalists following the coup attempt on July 15, Lale Akman and Nuriye Akman have been released.

Within the operations carried out against the Fethullah Gülen community following the coup attempt on July 15, 12 journalists including Mümtezer Türkone, columnist of the Gülen-linked former Zaman daily have been arrested.

Operation has been launched into 47 people consisting of Zaman daily’s former columnists and managers within scope of the probe launched as to the July 15 coup attempt. Şahin Alpay has been detained.

It has come out that the building belonged to Feza Journalism incorporating Zaman daily as well was sold to Cihan Media Distribution Joint Stock Company. New owners of the building can get the trustees out of the building.

A trustee has been appointed to Cihan News Agency and Advertising. Trustees had also been appointed to Zaman daily within the body of Feza Journalism Inc on Friday.
