Arrested while protesting for her reinstatement, Acun Karadağ, a teacher discharged from public service, has been released. The court has ruled that the other protestors Alev Şahin, Mehmet Dersulu and Nazan Bozkurt shall remain behind bars.

Discharged from public service by a Statutory Decree, Bozkurt is behind bars on charge of “organization membership.” However, the administrative investigation previously launched against her did not find any actions that would constitute a crime.

‘Pandemic is remembered when it comes to bringing them to court’
Arrested for protesting “to get their jobs back”, six people were sent to prisons in different cities though the lawsuit was filed in Ankara. The court has now ruled that they shall stand trial via the Audio and Visual Information System due to the pandemic.

They want their jobs back for 4 years
Acun Karadağ, who had been protesting to “get her job back”, was arrested with five others in August. On the 4th anniversary of their protest, she has sent a letter to bianet from Kayseri Prison, where she stays with Alev Şahin, another arrested protester.
