Over 200 artists and writers support the signature campaign initiated for the retrial of screenwriter, director, and actor Yılmaz Güney.

Director, actor, and screenwriter Yılmaz Güney's conviction for the murder of Judge Sefa Mutlu is once again a matter of debate. The family lawyer Bişar Abdi Alınak has made an application for the opening of Mutlu's grave. Speaking to bianet, Alınak points out the existence of information hidden from the public until now and argues that the court's conviction of Güney for the crime of intentional murder was erroneous.

Speaking to Mezopotamya Agency, Batman Municipality sources have said that the area where the movie house named after late Kurdish director Güney was located will be a part of the nearby park and a decorative pool will be constructed there.

Directed by Tabak, documentary called “Cirkin Kral’ın Efsanesi”, which is about Yılmaz Güney, has won award in 3rd Beyond the Borders festival organized on Castellorizo Island.
