UNESCO may strip Hagia Sophia and Chora of World Heritage Site status
The UNESCO Committee has said that it "deeply regrets the lack of dialogue and information" on Turkey’s intention to change the status of Hagia Sophia and Chora museums. Turkey’s Foreign Ministry has lashed out at the statement in a press release.

‘Recognize Lake Salda as UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site’
Amid plans and works to build a ‘Nation’s Garden’ around the lake, Lake Salda Preservation Association Chair Gazi Osman Şakar has made an application to UNESCO, requesting that the lake and its vicinity be declared a Natural World Heritage Site.
