At least 141 workers have lost their lives, according to a report by Worker Health and Occupational Safety Assembly. At least 1,421 workers lost their lives in the first six months of 2016.

At least 123 workers died on the job in the month of November. While most casualties were reported on the sectors of construction and agriculture, traffic accidents ranked as the most frequent causes of death.

According to Worker Health and Occupational Safety Assembly, at least 39 child workers lost their lives on the job in 2014. While the youngest worker was aged 6, most cases were reported in the agriculture sector.
