One village guard has lost his life and one village guard has been wounded in an armed conflict between the security forces and the PKK in the district of Silvan in Diyarbakır.

In a fire opened by the PKK militants in Turkey’s southeastern province of Siirt, six village guards have been killed, four soldiers and three village guards have been wounded.

"The state has used me for years and then brought me into this situation. I am calling on all village guards, this is going to happen to you as well sooner or later. My life and the lives of my family members are not safe anymore".
