Ankara Governorship has banned all activities for a month due to the demonstrations held in protest of arrest of educators Nuriye Gülmen and Semih Özakça.

Police have attacked protest of sociologist Veli Saçılık, who was discharged through a statutory decree, and Esra Özakça, who went on a hunger strike following Semih Özakça and Nuriye Gülmen being sent to prison. Saçılık has been hit with dozens of plastic bullets.

ECHR gave its verdict on Veli Saçılık whose severance pay for getting his arm torn off in a prison operation was recalled after the case at the Council of State: Turkey cannot ask Saçılık to give back the indemnity paid him. The ECHR also warned Turkey to take its verdicts seriously.
