Found guilty of five charges of evading US sanctions against Iran, Halkbank Deputy General Director Hakan Atilla’s summary judgement began at 5 p.m. Turkey’s local time yesterday. Judge Berman sentenced Atilla to 32 months in prison.

Former Halkbank Deputy General Director Atilla has been found guilty of five counts of six charges. Atilla was acquitted of money laundering.

Following the “US vs. Atilla” trial from the hearing room, CHP’s Aksünger has said that Atilla will probably be sentenced to 5 years in jail and “Turkey may be fined around 10 billion dollars”.
