A lawsuit has been filed against the neighbors of trans woman Ajda over their hate speech and transphobic attitude. Charged with “wrongful act”, “gender discrimination” and “threat,” they will stand trial at the İstanbul 14th Penal Judgeship of First Instance.

The Kırmızı Şemsiye’s (Red Umbrella’s) database processed a total of 267 cases of rights violations directed at trans people in the last year. 98% of trans people say they have experienced discrimination during the hiring process, and 68% while seeking medical treatment.
