A soldier wounded in ISIS attack in Syria’s city of al-Bab has lost his life in a hospital he was brought to for treatment in Antep, which increased the death toll to 38 during Operation Euphrates Shield.

Six soldiers have been injured in attack near Al Bab during Operation Euphrates Shield launched jointly by TSK and FSA into Syria. The injured soldiers have been taken to Kilis.

Body of Infantry Sergeant Major Şahin, who has been killed during Operation Euphrates Shield launched by TSK/FSA into Syria, has been sent to Afyonkarahisar’s Çay district. Şahin is the 19th soldier killed during the operation.

Explaining that purpose of Turkey’s military offensive into Syria is to “put an end to Assad’s governing” two days ago, Erdoğan today said that their target is not a country or a person.

In response to Erdoğan’s statement of “putting an end to Assad governing”, Peskov has said “This is a very serious statement. This contradicts with our understanding as the only country whose armed forces are legitimately present in Syria”.

President Erdoğan and Russia’s Leader Putin have discussed the Syrian war and a truce in Aleppo, ahead of the Feast of Sacrifice.

Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu has stressed the importance of the Raqqa and Mosul operations. “If there is no ground operation it is not possible to destroy or even stop DAEŞ (ISIS) with airstrikes alone.”

Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has declared that it is worried of Turkey’s further advancement into Syria and that the operation contravenes international law.
