In Turkey’s “Standing Man Case” over the Gezi Park Protests, judge appears in court sans robe, lawyers protest
On the 12th anniversary of the Gezi Resistance, in the trial of 19 students who were detained for repeating the 2013 “Standing Man” protest in Taksim, the judicial control measures against them were lifted. When lawyers warned the judge about wearing a robe, he responded, “Then let’s wear wigs too.”
