Not given an equal seat with European Council President Michel and Erdoğan during their visit to Turkey’s Presidency, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has said that she felt “hurt and left alone” as “a woman and as a European”.

A group of women have gathered in front of Turkey’s Embassy in Paris and protested the country for not giving an equal seat to European Commission President von der Leyen with European Council President Michel and President Erdoğan.

It is a known secret that Brussels is also aching for relations with Ankara getting rid of the limitations of the "Copenhagen Criteria" and moving towards lucrative topics.

While the EU's Michel expressed his "sadness," Minister Çavuşoğlu downplayed the incident, saying that the relations between Ankara and Brussels are in a much better shape now.
