İstanbulites fined for smoking in public
In line with the circular of the Interior Ministry, the Governor’s Office of İstanbul has banned smoking in streets and avenues closed to traffic and at the bus stops. Police officers have fined the citizens for smoking in public.

A New Regulation Under Way for Smokers?
Stating that the best places in cafes and restaurants are allocated to smoking guests, Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca has said that these smoking areas will be moved to closed spaces, which will not exceed 30 percent of the whole place.

The Health Minister made public the new interdictions and inspections concerning smoking: Packs without brands or logos, smoking forbidden in three quarters of open spaces, police will conduct the inspections. The start date of the new regulation is October 1.
