Supreme Court of Appeal 1st Penal Chamber has reversed the life prison sentence for Nevin Yıldırım who is standing trial for having killed the man who raped her.

The appeal hearing in the trial of Nevin Yıldırım, who faces life imprisonment for killing her rapist, was held today. Feminists and women lawyers attended the hearing to support Yıldırım. Verdict will be passed on September 21.

According to the report of İstanbul Feminist Collective, two women have killed the men who have inflicted violence on/harassed them in March. The report also included cases of self-defence.

KCK Co-Chair Cemil Bayık said “We defend ourselves in a war that was started, PKK defends itself,” and stated the conditions for a cease-fire.
