Former Police Intelligence Chief Sabri Uzun, who was taken into custody on April 23 as part of an investigation by Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, has been arrested on charges of “insulting the President” and “aiding a terrorist organization.”

Sabri Uzun, the police intelligence chief at the time of Hrant Dink's murder, has been detained for insulting President Erdoğan.

On his Twitter account, former Security Intelligence Directorate President Uzun wrote, “If the incidents in Syria reflect on Jews in Turkey, it will be a PITY!”. The Turkish Jewish Community responded, “We expect you to prevent a potential September 6-7 by reporting this anticipation of yours”.

In yesterday's hearing of the case against journalist Şener based on his book about the murder of Turkish-Armenian jounalist Dink, former Head of Intelligence Uzun admitted negligence of the police prior to the assassination. He said the murder could have been prevented.
