The investigation into the declaration of 103 retired admirals has been completed. The prosecutor’s office has said that “the seized digital materials of some suspects were examined and written correspondence under investigation is added to the indictment.”

An investigation has been launched against 84 people who signed the ‘Montreux declaration’ and have not given their statements. They are charged with “making an agreement to commit crime against the security of the state and constitutional order.”

Summoned to depose for "supporting" the declaration of 104 retired admirals, six of the seven retired soldiers have been released on probation while one soldier could not give his statement as he was in treatment at hospital.

President Erdoğan has commented on Turkey’s withdrawal from İstanbul Convention: “If we absolutely need such a contract, we can draught one that is fairer, better, and stronger, call it the Ankara Convention, and go forward with that."

Ten retired officers were detained and four others were summoned to testify over a declaration that the government claimed was a "coup threat."

910 associations, 408 foundations, 114 chambers, 27 universities, 550 trade unions and 46 federations have filed criminal complaints about the retired admirals’ declaration on Montreux Convention.
