Former PM Spokesman Must Pay Compensation to Journalist
The former spokesman of the Prime Ministry, Akif Beki, was convicted of insulting Hürriyet newspaper reporter Hasan Tüfekçi in the context of his article on "security weaknesses" in the Prime Ministry. Beki has to pay TL 7,500 in compensation to the journalist.

Books from French Writer Reviewed by Prime Ministry
In the case on three allegedly obscene books, the court found an expert report issued by Galatasaray University insufficient. The file of publisher Sancı and interpreter Yerguz was sent to the Prime Ministerial Board for the Protection of Children from Harmful Publications.

The Administrative Court unanimously cancelled the procedure to repeal Milliyet newspaper journalist Karakuş's Prime Ministry accreditation. However, Evrensel journalist Özer has been waiting for a referring decision on his behalf for 1 year already.

Transsexuals Complain at Prime Ministry about Police Violence
About 80 people gathered in Ankara upon the call of the Pink Life Transgender Association. Despite police resistance they managed to hand their petition for redress to the Human Rights Presidency of the Prime Ministry. The petition is concerned with police violence against transvestites and transsexuals and rights violations occurring in the Act on Misdemeanour.
