Three prisoners have been enrolled at a university but are not allowed to attend classes.

Feminist journalist and writer Ayşe Düzkan has been referred to an open prison. Leaving Bakırköy Women’s Closed Prison in İstanbul last evening, Düzkan is expected to be transferred to Eskişehir Open Prison in 30 hours.

Upon the objection of the Public Prosecutor, the Eskişehir 1st Heavy Penal Court has reversed the verdict of Eskişehir 1st Judgeship of Execution, which accepted the request of Academic for Peace Prof. Dr. Füsun Üstel for transfer to an open prison.

Eskişehir 1st Judgeship of Execution has accepted Üstel’s request for transfer to an open prison by referring to a verdict by Supreme Court of Appeals, which ruled, “The ones convicted of terror propaganda cannot be deemed a terrorist organization member.”
