The Health and Safety Labor Watch has released its monthly report on occupational homicides.

In 2019 alone, 1,736 workers died because of occupational accidents, according to TurkStat figures.

“It is practical to notify through internet. However, this is not making it easier for house workers, but SGK and employers,” said Serpil Kemalbay from İmece Women Union on the wage coupon system.

A report of the Istanbul Assembly for Occupational Health and Work Safety revealed that 396 workers died in accidents at work in the first nine months of this year. The assembly holds the state and the companies responsible since they neglected work security.
