Yet a new trial has been opened against Publisher Zarakolu and Writer Güler on the grounds of the book "The KCK File / Global State and Kurds without a State". Both defendants are facing imprisonment of to 2 years and 8 months.

While the previous prosecutor demanded acquittal for publisher Zarakolu, the new prosecutor requests his punishment for the book "More difficult decisions than death". Zarakolu stated that the atmosphere of the trial seems to change according to the country's climate.

Prosecutor Çavuşoğlu from the Istanbul 10th High Criminal Court pleaded for the acquittal of publisher Zarakolu and writer Güler. The defendants were facing prison sentences under allegations of "spreading PKK propaganda" on behalf of a character in a novel.
