Behind bars for over four years, journalist Mümtazer Türköne, who was arrested shortly after the coup attempt, has been released by the ruling of the Court of Cassation. MHP Chair Bahçeli previously called on the authorities to reexamine his file.

Rejecting the other applications of arrested former Zaman columnist Mümtazer Türköne, the Constitutional Court has found the allegation admissible that “his right to personal liberty and security has been violated as his arrest is not lawful.”
