Journalist Can Dündar, also a suspect according to indictment in Cumhuriyet case has responded to the claims of the prosecutors in the trial that “the editorial policy changed” as “None of your business”.

The lawsuit brought against the journalists Erdem Gül and Can Dündar due to their reports on the trucks of National Intelligence Agency has been combined with the lawsuit filed against Berberoğlu. The next hearing will be held on November 16.

Can Dündar has resigned from his one-and-a-half-year position as Editor-in-Chief of Cumhuriyet daily. Noting that he would continue writing newspaper columns, Dündar has stated that he would not come back to Turkey until the end of the State of Emergency.

Journalist Can Dündar has been sentenced to a punitive fine of 8,750 Euro on charges of defaming President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Bilal Erdoğan and some other businesspersons in his article series.

The trial of Dündar and Gül have been adjourned until April 1 as the MPs did not abide by the “closed trial” decision.
