In recent interviews, Mehmet Eymür admitted that Turkey's security and intelligence organizations committed torture and extrajudicial killings.

In the wake of his remarks on enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings, lawyer Kuzu requests that Eymür, a former head of the counterterrorism department of the National Intelligence Organization, be heard as a witness in the Midyat JİTEM case.

Eymür says he doesn't regret what he did, and it's "legitimate" for the state to commit such practices. He criticizes those who did these for "personal interests" though.

Eymür says prosecutors should investigate Peker's claims.
