Put on trial again over the death of Medeni Yıldırım, who was shot to death by the fire opened by soldiers in Diyarbakır’s Lice, the private soldier has been acquitted again. The Yıldırım family has protested the impunity.

In the lawsuits filed into the killing of eight people during the Gezi resistance of 2013, the defendants were given “judicial fines”, they were “acquitted” or given “good conduct times.” No lawsuit has been filed into the death of Ahmet Atakan.

The hearing of the case of Yıldırım, who was shot dead by a soldier, lasted only five minutes as the court has not even received a response to the letters it sent to the state institutions.

The family of Abdullah Cömert, a young protestor who lost his life during Gezi Resistance, visited Gezi Park today. While Ali İsmail Korkmaz, Mehmet Ayvalıtaş and Ethem Sarısülük were also commemorated on their death anniversary, other activists celebrated Medeni Yıldırım’s birthday.
