‘Pride March’ case against LGBTIQ+ Assemblies ends in acquittal

Deputy minister defends police violence against journalist Bülent Kılıç
Police took AFP photojournalist Bülent Kılıç into custody by pressing their knees on him at the 19th İstanbul LGBTI+ Pride March. While the journalist says that “they wanted to leave him breathless,” Deputy Interior Minister Ersoy defends the violence.

19th İstanbul Pride March: Police attack in Taksim, several people detained
The Sub-Governor’s Office of Beyoğlu has banned the LGBTI+ Pride March to be held in Taksim. The police attacked the group who gathered in Taksim. Using plastic bullets, they have taken at least 20 people into custody.
