BDP Executive Dies from Gas Bomb during Newroz 'Celebrations'
BDP district executive Hacı Zengin died after he was hit by a gas bomb thrown by the police during heavy interventions against thousands of people who wanted to celebrate Newroz. The Ministry of the Interior denied permission for the celebrations this year.

More KCK Operations, Custodies, Arrests...
22 people were taken into police custody in Diyarbakır in the course of the latest KCK operations, among them the Deputy Mayor of Bağlar. Eleven persons were arrested in Istanbul few days earlier.

70 Arrests in Istanbul and Diyarbakır
34 people were arrested in Istanbul on 26 November. They were part of a group of 46 people, mostly lawyers, who were taken into custody on 22 November in the course of KCK operations. In Diyarbakır, 36 out of 43 people in custody were detained.

92 members of the Peace and Democracy Party were taken into police custody in the course of a KCK operation in Istanbul on 4 October. At the same time, dozens of people were taken into custody in Diyarbakır, Gaziantep, Ankara, Derik, Batman and Kurtalan.

The protest movement against the NATO Missile Shield in Kürecik in south-eastern Turkey was supported by 500 people who attended a demonstration in Istanbul on Sunday. The next protest action is set for 2 October in Kürecik.

Blast Bomb in Diyarbakır, Noise Bomb in Istanbul
A bomb thrown to a shuttle of the Police Vocational School in Diyarbakır left four policemen injured. A noise bomb placed in a bus in Istanbul was brought to explosion by the bus driver at the side of the road. Nobody was wounded.

The recent police intervention in Hopa fuelled protests in Izmir and Istanbul after demonstrators had already made their voices heard in Ankara. Again, the massive use of tear gas caused a heart attack. Several people were beaten and taken into police custody.

Chief of Police: "Bomb was Fastened to a Bicycle"
Istanbul Chief of Police Çapkın announced that the explosion in Istanbul this morning was caused by a bomb of medium intensity fastened on a bicycle that was placed at the bus stop. Two of the seven wounded persons are reported to be in a severe condition.

After the bomb attack in central Istanbul on Sunday, Prime Minister Erdoğan said the attack was aimed at "thwarting a developed and modern Turkey". President Gül and opposition leader Kılıçdaroğlu condemned the incident. The pro-Kurdish BDP reminded the "government to take responsibility".

The Kurdistan Freedom Falcons claimed responsibility for a bomb attack on a civilian bus transporting military personnel in Istanbul on Monday. The attack left five people dead, among them two special sergeants and one teenage girl.
