The Grand Chamber's verdict comes as part of the infringement proceedings launched against Turkey for its failure to implement a 2019 decision for the release of the businessperson and rights advocate Osman Kavala.

ECtHR unveils timeline to examine the case of Osman Kavala
Turkey, Osman Kavala and members of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe may submit opinions by April 19. The ECtHR will review the case in May or June and the Grand Chamber is expected to give the final judgment after August.
