Middle East Technical University graduate student Edemir was sentenced to more than six years behind bars on charges of "membership of a terrorist organization". He was released from detention at the same time. The file was forwarded to the Court of Appeals.

Middle-East Technical University student Edemir will remain in detention until the coming hearing on 23 June. The Istanbul 10th High Criminal Court did not take into consideration the prosecutor's final speech in favour of Edemir's release pending trial.

Graduate student Edemir has been detained for one year because of his alleged membership of an armed organization. The prosecutor demanded his release but the court decided to keep him in detention. Lawyer Aslan criticized that her client is detained without reason.
