Court Says Hrant Dink Murder ‘Organized Crime,’ Sentences Tuncel to 99 Years, 6 Months in Jail
Of the seven defendants whose files were separated from the main trial because of the possibility of statutory limitations, Tuncel has been sentenced to 99 years and 6 months and Samast, who shot Dink dead, to 2 years and 6 months in prison.

Six Months' Imprisonment for Colonel Öz and Captain Yıldız
Colonel Ali Öz and Captain Metin Yıldız were sentenced to six months in jail on charges of negligence of duty prior to the murder of Turkish-Armenian journalist Dink. Another four defendants received prison terms of four months each, two defendants were acquitted.

Procedures in Trabzon Put on Hold
The cases related to the murder of Turkish-Armenian journalist Hrant Dink tried in Trabzon at the 1st High Criminal Court and the 2nd Magistrate Criminal Court were continued. The criminal court will wait for the prosecutor's opinion on a merger of the cases; the magistrate court will wait for the high court's decision accordingly.

Journalist Nedim Şener was acquitted in the case on his book "The Dink murder and the intelligence lies". Şener had been facing imprisonment of up to three years. The International Press Institute chose Şener as one of the international "press heroes".

A secret witness of the murder of Turkish-Armenian journalist Hrant Dink claimed that prime supect Ogün Samast killed Dink together with alleged instigator Yasin Hayal. In a statement to the prosecution the witness also said that Osman Hayal watched the incident.
