HDP’s Ayşe Acar Başaran has announced that at least 99 people have been detained in Diyarbakır, Ankara, Dresim, Mardin, Van, Mersin, Kocaeli, Muş, Ağrı and İstanbul. The exact number of the detained is not yet certain.

Speaking about HDP’s recent call for snap elections in response to appointment of trustees to its 24 municipalities, HDP Spokesperson Kubilay has said, “We call on the whole opposition to unite around this request for snap election and to take action.”

HDP Spokesperson Kubilay has said, “In a country where economic crisis, unemployment, poverty and misery prevail and price increases rain down on people, what does the government say to people, other than ‘I will crush, sweep, smash, destroy’.”
