Police detained 5 Genç-Sen members for protesting PM’s remarks on student residence by attempting to flash a banner at a cafe nearby PM’s office in Istanbul.

Members of the Genç-Sen Students Youth Union protested against the closure decision of their union in Istanbul on 5 October. The union announced to bring their legal struggle as far as the European Court of Human Rights if necessary.

Taştekin from the student union Genç-Sen has expressed the demand for equal, free education and the abolition of the ÖSS, the annual central university exam without which students cannot enter university.

The second hearing of the Student Union case, which was filed by the Istanbul Gpvernorship, was held today. The trial has been postponed to November 18.
