The extraordinary objection raised by the HDP to the decision of the Supreme Election Council (YSK) preventing the mayor-elects discharged by statutory decrees from taking office has been rejected by the YSK by a vote of seven to four.

AKP has submitted a petition to İstanbul Provincial Election Council, requesting that elections be cancelled and re-elections be held in Büyükçekmece, İstanbul. The party has also demanded the cancellation of district Mayor Akgün’s certificate of election.
