Elif Akkuş was arrested on the grounds of posts made against the public broadcaster TRT from an anonymous X account.

Lawyer Hüseyin Ersöz stated that the attempt to discharge TRT correspondent Akkuş from the hospital and take her to the courthouse under police custody was unlawful. He also informed that his client has been administered excessive medications to enable her discharge from the hospital.

Lawyer Ersöz stated that Akkuş was willing to go for questioning if invited, but she was taken into custody.

TRT reporter Elif Akkuş has allegedly been reassigned to a tech support position after sending tweets related to the death of Berkin Elvan. “We don’t know about the case, but there must be a reason for transfer,” HR department said.
