The Diyarbakır Branches of Education Union have shared their report on education with the public. The report has shown that 4,300 of 47,228 students who graduated from secondary school cannot enroll in an institution for further formal education.

1.1 million signatures were submitted to the Turkish Parliament as a result of the campaign for "Education in the Mother Language" initiated by the Democratic Society Congress two months ago. The petition will also be forwarded to the EU, the UN and the UNESCO.

The Initiative for Reforms in Education underlined the need for research and preparation regarding "Bilingual Education". The perception of languages needs to be changed and primary education should be improved urgently, the initiative claimed.
