2 New Statutory Decrees Issued, 2,756 People Discharged, 17 Institutions Closed
Two new statutory decrees were issued on Sunday under the State of Emergency. 2,756 public personnel have been discharged, 17 institutions including 7 associations and 7 foundations have been closed.

Hearings of 10 Academics Adjourned to April 12
The first hearings of the 10 academics who are among the 1,128 academics standing trial for having signed the peace declaration of the Academics for Peace was held today in İstanbul Court. Acquiattal requests and the request to combine the cases were rejected. Next hearings of the 10 academics will be on April 12, 2018

Gülmen Transferred From Intensive Care to Hospital’s Prisoner Facility
On the 217th day of her hunger strike, academic Nuriye Gülmen has been transferred to the hospital’s prisoner facility from the intensive care unit. Meeting Gülmen in prison, CHP MP Ağbaba pointed to the poor prison conditions and to the lack of a sitter/companion in her cell.

Hearing on 204th Day Of Hunger Strike: No Release for Gülmen, Özakça
Second hearing was held today for Gülmen and Özakça, who are on the 204th day of their hunger strike, and for the discharged teacher Karadağ. Özakça was brought to hearing in a wheelchair while Gülmen was kept in intensive care. Court ruled that Gülmen and Özakça remain in detention on remand.

Gülmen still on hunger strike in detention, was taken to intensive care unit in a conscious state yesterday evening. Her attorney Yılmaz said, they predicted an intention to stop Gülmen from attending the hearing.

Gülmen, Özakça Not Released in 1st Hearing Held Without Defendants
In the first hearing held without the presence of the defendants, the court ruled that Gülmen and Özakça remain further in detention on remand. The defendants have been on a hunger strike for 190 days and are behind bars since May 23. The next hearing will be on September 28.
