The Kocaeli Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has filed charges against the head manager of the silo, deputy manager, deputy chief, engineer working at the silo, the owner of the subcontracting firm, and a representative of the subcontracting firm for "causing the death or injury of multiple individuals through negligence."

Kocaeli MP Gergerlioğlu criticized the lack of an official statement regarding the explosion in the Turkish Grain Board silos at Derince Port, and the non-disclosure of the expert report, despite four months passing. Emphasizing that the explosion in Turkey's most modern silo, which will be inoperable for two to three years, has caused not only casualties, but also a significant national asset loss, he questioned, "Is there no one responsible for this?"

The explosion occurred at the grain silo of the Grain Board of Turkey (TMO) Directorate in Derince, Kocaeli. Governor Yavuz informed the press that there are injured, while Mayor Akgün said he was hopeful that there are no fatalities.
