The country's 12-month rolling deficit reached 24.22 billion dollars in March, according to the Central Bank.

The Central Bank has announced a current account deficit of 5.15 billion dollars for February.

The figure was a 2.74 billion dollars surplus in the same month last year.

Exports dropped faster than imports amid the coronavirus pandemic, according to the Central Bank.

Minister of Treasury and Finance Albayrak has commented on the current account balance figures: “Decreasing the economic bubble in import and increasing export, we have posted 12-month current surplus for the first time in 17-year AKP rule.”

The 12-month cumulative current account recorded 538 million US dollars surplus.

The Central Bank has announced the current account balance data for May 2019. Accordingly, Turkey’s current account has posted 151 million dollar current surplus in May. The two-month current deficit has become 2 billion 370 million dollars.

Turkey has posted a current account deficit of 1 billion and 437 million US Dollars in December. The country's current account has recorded a deficit of 27 billion and 633 million dollars.
