The Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office of the Supreme Court of Appeals has requested that Atalay, Erinç, Sabuncu and Çetinkaya be acquitted; the prison sentences of İper and Aydoğdu be upheld and Ahmet Şık be tried on different charges.

Six lawyers and journalists whose prison sentences were upheld in Cumhuriyet case have been imprisoned again. Speaking before entering prison, Musa Kart said, “The one who threw a punch is free, cartoonist and journalists are behind bars.”
