In the lawsuit filed into the poisoning of dogs in Ankara in April 2019, three defendants have been each sentenced to 10 years in prison on charges of “killing an owned animal" and "polluting the environment deliberately."

The Governorship of Ankara has cancelled the concert to be held by Turkish Folk Music singer Sabahat Akkiraz in Ankara Batıkent on September 22 on the ground that “it is not deemed suitable for public welfare and public security”.

Being detained in relation with the poisoning of 16 dogs to death in Ankara, three suspects have been released by the court pending trial.

While the dead bodies of 13 dogs have been found in different places in the capital city of Ankara, it has also been reported that seven dogs are currently missing. Three people have been taken into custody as part of the ensuing investigation.
