Magnitude 5.1 earthquake hits Turkey’s Aegean province of İzmir
According to the statement of the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD), the epicenter of the earthquake was 56.18 kilometers from Urla district, with a depth of 3.97 kilometers. A 4.3-magnitude aftershock was measured 9 minutes later.

Successive earthquakes in the Aegean Sea
According to Boğaziçi University Kandilli Observatory, four successive earthquakes shook the Aegean Sea off the coast of İzmir province. The highest magnitude measured by the Observatory was 5.2.

Boat Sinks in Aegean Sea, 6 People Lose Their Lives
An inflatable boat with 16 people on board have capsized on its way from Ayvalık in Balıkesir to the Lesbos Island in Greece. Six people, three of whom were babies, have lost their lives, one person has gone missing and nine people have been rescued.
