Arrested while protesting for her reinstatement, Acun Karadağ, a teacher discharged from public service, has been released. The court has ruled that the other protestors Alev Şahin, Mehmet Dersulu and Nazan Bozkurt shall remain behind bars.

Acun Karadağ, who had been protesting to “get her job back”, was arrested with five others in August. On the 4th anniversary of their protest, she has sent a letter to bianet from Kayseri Prison, where she stays with Alev Şahin, another arrested protester.

In his dictum, prosecutor demanded release of academic Gülmen, who has been on hunger strike, on the ground that “there is no potential of her running away” but the court has ruled continuation of her arrest.
