Highest number of content removal orders in Turkey target news on corruption, irregularities
According to the report of the Media Research Association, at least 1,197 news articles faced orders of removal in a year. The websites of Cumhuriyet and BirGün newspapers and Oda TV news website faced the highest number of removal orders.

The Constitutional Court has concluded that the access blocks imposed on some news stories published on a series of news websites such as BirGün, Gazete Duvar and Diken were in violation of their rights and ruled for payment of damages.

Examining nine different applications regarding the access blocks imposed by criminal judgeships of peace, Constitutional Court has concluded that “freedom of expression and press” has been violated and asked for a new law from the Parliament.
