Arrested as part of the operation against the HDP on November 4, 2016 and sentenced to 8 years in prison, Abdullah Zeydan is given a ruling of release in the retrial held after the Court of Cassation overturned the previous local court ruling.

From Demirtaş to his fellow inmate Zeydan, who has similarly not been released despite a verdict of release: “There is neither law, nor justice. But there is companionship, solidarity, hope and resistance. One day, there will definitely be freedom as well.”

HDP delegation hasn’t been allowed to meet HDP Co-Chair Demirtaş and Hakkari MP Zeydan, who are arrested in Edirne, for not having a permission from the Ministry of Justice despite having one from Edirne Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office.
