Court has ruled that police officer Kuş, who caused the death of Abdullah Cömert in Gezi resistance and was previously given a 13-year prison sentence before being reversed by the Supreme Court, shall be sentenced to 6 years, 10 months and 15 days in prison.

The court in its reasoned decision as to the lawsuit with regards to Abdullah Cömert who had been killed in Gezi protests in Hatay has identified the gas weapon as a “weapon not suitable to kill”. One judge has voted against.

Prosecutors completed the indictment concerning the death of Abdullah Cömert, a Gezi Resistance protestor who got shot in the head with gas capsule in Hatay. Police officer Ahmet Kuş has been charged with up to 25 years of sentence for “premeditated murder”.
