While the labor force participation rate of the children aged 15-17 was 16.2 in 2020, this rate increased to 16.4 percent in 2021, according to the TurkStat. The net enrollment rate of 5-year-olds also declined in a year.

According to the 2021 Family Structure Survey of the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat), housework was mostly undertaken by women, childcare with 94.4 percent, laundry with 85.6 percent and cooking with 85.4 percent.
