People's Republican Party (CHP) Leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu has reacted against pro-government Star columnist Cem Küçük threatening Aydın Doğan and asking for some journalists to be fired.
Kılıçdaroğlu called Küçük's words "very daring".

According to Can Dündar from Cumhuriyet daily, Kılıçdaroğlu gathering with a group of journalists has spoken about Küçük listing some names for Doğan and call him to "fire those one, otherwise you will pay for it. We will make the decision about your future".
Kılıçdaroğlu said, "Those words are a blow dealt on democracy. A journalist desiring his colleagues to be fired is an unprecedented incident in history of the Republic. It is a proof that a Goebbelian regime has begun".

"I would like [Prime Minister Ahmet] Davutoğlu to react first who promised to embrace 78 million [of people]. I wish Davutoğlu had come out and say 'Who do you think you are to speak like that'".
Kılıçdaroğlu stating he will take it to parliament said, "This is a disaster if these words are said by force Davutoğlu, it is even a greater disaster if forced by [President Recep Tayyip] Erdoğan. We see they will increase pressure in the upcoming period. Press can overcome these pressures by standing tall, not by compromising".

What had happened?
Cem Küçük in the program he makes with Ersoy Dede on Kanal 24 TV had said, "If you say 'we will fight parallel organization'*, then you will lay off Eyüp Can and his assistant Bülent Mumay. You will fire Nazlı Ilıcak. I don't say he should fire Ahmet, Şirin, Nevşin. Our enemy number one is FETÖ (Fethullahist Terror Organization). If they are your enemy too, you will fire Eyüp Can, Bülent Mumay, and Nazlı Ilıcak. If you don't, then you will pay for it."
Küçük had earlier threatened Ahmet Hakan and Nevşin Mengü. (EA/TK)
