Özgür Gündem daily has come up against numberless probes, cases and censor since Juley 24, 2015 when the conflict restarted.
Despite the crackdowns, 56 people have supported the Özgür Gündem’s Editor-in-Chief on Watch Campaign that was launched on May 3.

Investigation has been launched into 50 out of 56 editors-in-chief on charge of “terrorist organization propaganda”.

16 lawsuits
Investigations have turned into lawsuits against Faruk Eren, Ayşe Düzkan, Ertuğrul Mavioğlu, Hakkı Saruhan Oluç, Celal Başlangıç, Mehmet Fehim Işık, Ragıp Duran, Murat Çelikkan, İhsan Çaralan, Kemal Can, Öncü Akgül, Emine Beyza Üstün, Celalettin Can.
Three arrests
Indictments on Reporters Without Borders (RSF) Turkey Representative and bianet rapporteur Erol Önderoğlu, and Turkey Human Rights Foundation (TİHV) Chair Şebnem Korur Fincancı are kept by İstanbul 13th Heavy Penal Court. The court is expected to see the indictments on Friday (July 1).
Indictment on journalist author Ahmet Nesin is at İstanbul 14th Heavy Penal Court. It is unclear when Nesin’s indictment will be seen.
Six non-prosecution
Non-prosecution has been issued on Mustafa Sönmez, Hasip Kaplan, Ahmet Abakay, Nurcan Baysal, Eşber Yağmurdereli ve Melda Onur.
Fines
250,000 TL (80,000 euro) has been imposed on Reyhan Çapan, and 100,000 TL has been imposed on Eren Keskin in the investigations launched within the scope of Press Act by June 2016. They daily’s website has been blocked for five times. (EA/TK)
