State-run Anadolu Agency (AA) has reported that three of its correspondents have been kidnapped by Civil Protection Units (YPS) during their report follow up in Nusaybin district of Mardin province. The reporters be detained for two days were delivered to Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) MPs yesterday (February 21).
HDP Mardin MP Ali Atalan made the statement, “We’ve recovered the three correspondents. We are heading to the sub-Governorship” following AA’s announcement.
What had happened?
AA’s one of war correspondents Rauf Maltaş, photo reporter Onur Çoban, and cameraperson Kenan Yeşilyurt were tasked in Nusaybin district a week ago.
AA reported that 48 hours passed over kidnapping of the reporters whose cameras were seized for “shooting without permission of YPS”. (AS/TK)
