Unemployment rate in Turkey has increased to 11.7% by increasing 1.6 points in March 2017 compared to the same period of last year.
According to the stats of the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), the number of unemployed people has reached 3,642,000 with an increase of 619,000 in the same period.
The unemployment rate drops 0.9 points in March compared to last month.
Youth unemployment
TÜİK’s data for March 2017 is as follows:
Non-agricultural unemployment is estimated 13.7% with an increase of 1.8 points.
Rate of the youth unemployment aged between 15-24 reached 21.4% with an increase of 4.4 points.
The rate marked 12% with an increase of 1.7 points in the age group 15-64. (YY/TK)
